illion rubles. This is 25% more than in 2023. Then this figure was 19.7 billion rubles. The forecast for 2024 was given in the study of the VKS market by the information and analytical agency (IAA) TelecomDaily. The survey was conducted in April 2024. More than 1,000 Russian citizens who hold management positions or own businesses that use VKS in their work took part in it.

"According to most forecasts, the videoconferencing market will grow at an average growth rate of at least 16%, at least until 2028. In the first years, the rate will be higher. The taiwan whatsapp resource revenue of Russian companies will grow even faster due to the replacement of foreign players. Digital transformation is gradually moving towards replacing specialists with artificial intelligence, and people are becoming managers and social workers. 70-80% of a manager's working time is taken up by communications. Therefore, the ongoing changes in the labor structure are only beneficial for videoconferencing," says Leonid Delitsyn, an analyst at FG Finam.

Freedom Finance Global analyst Vladimir Chernov is confident that the Russian VKS market will continue to grow: "This will happen against the backdrop of the base effect; the market has no opportunity to reverse such a trend. Its growth rate will be approximately 10-15% per year (in the first four years), then it will begin to slow down, also against the backdrop of the base effect."

Players in the Russian videoconferencing market showed radically different financial results for 2023. The largest revenue was shown by JSC IVA, it amounted to 2.5 billion rubles. The lowest revenue was shown by Videomost LLC - 979 thousand rubles.

Respondents named 12 services they work with in 2024. Among them, eight are domestic and only four are foreign. However, the most popular are foreign Zoom and Skype. These services are used by 67.5% and 44.3% of respondents, respectively.

Further behind in the top five most popular services are the Russian Yandex.Telemost (19%), MTS Link (14%), and VK Zvonki (12.8%). However, domestic services have increased their share of usage since 2021. For example, Yandex.Telemost showed almost threefold growth (from 6.6% in 2021 to 19% in 2024), and SberJazz increased its share 36 times - from 0.3% to 10.8%. At the same time, Skype's share fell from 57.5% to 44.3%, giving way to Zoom, which previously held a share of 50.9%.

"We see that products from foreign vendors are actively losing their audience. Businesses are testing alternative videoconferencing services and gradually switching to Russian solutions, showing positive audience growth year on year. According to our data, the number of organizations using Telemost as part of Yandex 360 for Business as a corporate videoconferencing tool has grown exponentially in 2023 and already totals more than 130 thousand organizations in various industries," said Alexander Chesnavsky, Commercial Director of Yandex 360 for Business.

Head of Product Marketing at MTS Link Ekaterina Pichelatova recalled the trend of companies ready to test and gradually implement Russian solutions, but not to abandon foreign analogues while there is an opportunity to use them: "60% of large Russian companies use several platforms for business communications at once, combining Russian and foreign services. For corporate users, the situation may change with the strengthening of Western sanctions. Thus, the demand for Russian solutions will grow. There is a high probability that businesses will respond to the latest changes and speed up this process. As a vendor, we support this initiative and offer three months of using MTS Link services as a gift to companies that switch from foreign solutions."

Pavel Skripnichenko, head of the Kontur.Tolk project (a videoconferencing service from the SKB Kontur group of companies), believes that by the end of 2024, state corporations will switch en masse to domestic services: "We cannot ignore legislative requirements. From January 1, 2025, all state corporations and companies with state participation will have to completely replace foreign software with Russian software. In addition, from September 1, 2024, all educational organizations, including private ones, will be able to use only solutions included in the register of domestic software (SW). This applies to software, instant messengers, video communication services, proctoring systems."

TelecomDaily analysts also calculated an integrated assessment for video conferencing services, consisting of points obtained based on the criteria that users presented to them, as well as the breadth of available functionality and its demand. Zoom received the maximum number of points - 77.6 out of 100 possible. In second place is the Russian platform SberJazz - 69.7 points, in third place is Skype - 63 points. Yandex.Telemost and VK Calls round out the top five - 47.6 and 34.5 points, respectively.
