Facebook's new Slideshow tool promises to help advertisers reach new heights, using a means of propagation other than audiovisual.
Some videos take a long time to load completely and people end up giving up watching them precisely because of this problem: slow internet. This is more common in developing countries, where the internet is controlled by government forces.
This problem, due to low internet speed, ends up causing brands to lose sales that could make a big difference. Slideshow ads are lightweight and can be loaded even if the internet is poor.
The new feature is that the Slideshow is five times smaller in size than a video of the same length. It can have up to 7 photos, and be 5 to 15 seconds long. Photos, which will email list usa be created by the advertiser with the help of an editor of their choice. It is not yet possible to add sound to the slides, but according to Facebook, this will soon be possible.
The makeup brand 'quem disse, berenice?' was the first in the world to use this tool and saw considerable increases in sales.
According to Gustavo Fruges Ferreira, Branding and Communications Manager at 'quem disse, berenice?', “The format has proven to be quite useful for our communications, as it makes the content more interactive in this mobile era”.
Soon after, Coca-Cola put together a slideshow to announce Coke Studio Africa, which took place in Kenya and Nigeria. With this move, the soft drink brand managed to get 2 million people to see the piece, breaking its own expectations.
This shows us that the creation of this new means of advertising was a good initiative, helping brands to reach their audience quickly and easily, and that it will continue to evolve.
