So I'm not the only one who wants a clear separation between business and private life.
A picture that expresses: where has the separation between business and private life gone?
New features on social media channels seem to be developed specifically for companies these days. job function email database As far as LinkedIn is concerned, that sounds logical (now), but I am also talking about the other channels. For example, look at the recent introduction of Shops , which allows you to create your own 'webshop' via Instagram or Facebook. Or Guides , to share bundled content.
Now that LinkedIn Stories is also available for business accounts, I think it won't be long before the swipe-up function and advertising possibilities are introduced here as well. Selling, selling, selling, and profiling yourself professionally, that's all it seems to be about. Wasn't it also more about making and maintaining genuine business connections in the early years of LinkedIn?
The opportunities for businesses are great for entrepreneurs and the platforms themselves of course. Let the money flow. But doesn't this make 'social' less and less social?
One way traffic
I feel like social media channels are slowly turning into business e-commerce platforms. Uniformity and one-way traffic . We show each other everything, but where is the dialogue? Where I used to have social conversations via Hyves and Facebook, the former is a thing of the past and I only open Facebook for funny videos.
When I want to relax socially and look for two-way traffic, I reach for WhatsApp or FaceTime. No longer directly to a platform like Instagram, and I think that's a shame. I'm starting to miss the social side of social media. Do you still see it as a two-way traffic?
