There are many software tools that can make everyday PPC tasks, such as creating an advertising budget, much more efficient. However, many advertisers, especially smaller businesses, don't have the money to justify purchasing these more expensive tools. If you're on a budget, looking for a better budgeting method , or are new to PPC, try making your own tool that will give you the information you need to adjust your PPC campaign budget throughout the month.
This is by no means the only way to track budgets; there are certainly more robust analytical strategies , but as you'll see, this simple tool is accurate, reliable, and free. All you need is Google Sheets or Excel.
Step 1: Create a template

Budget planning
How to proceed when making a template:
• Starting at the top left, enter what categories you need to track. This can be just one line item, but you can use this field to segment multiple items (e.g. client list, brands, campaigns, placements, etc.). Then enter a budget and create a column for “total spend,” “planned spend,” and “over/under.” Once we’ve finalized the template and created the necessary formulas, we’ll populate these cells.
• Next to this field, create a field for the dates that we will use for the formulas (date formulas are given in the section below). For each month, simply enter the number of days.

• Finally, for each line item you enter above, create an array with the following columns :
