This process consists of the period of time determined by Brazilian law, in which holders of elective positions obtained through uk mobile database proportional elections can change political parties without incurring the loss of their mandate. This period is valid for 30 days, determined by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

Established by the 2015 electoral reform, through article 22-A in the Political Parties Law (Law No. 9,096/95), this measure was a response to the determination of party loyalty for proportional positions, established by the TSE and confirmed by the Supreme Federal Court (STF).

The opportunity granted by the Party Window is exclusive to those holding elected positions obtained through proportional elections, such as city councilors and state, federal and district deputies.
