2016 was a year of contradictions. Most of the significant government and commercial initiatives in the field of cybersecurity were contradictory in nature and did not stand up to the minimum test of common sense. The cybersecurity landscape not only became more complex, but also oversaturated with all sorts of fakes and slogans for the sake of slogans, the authors of which were even reputable government institutions. A separate problem is the lack of a full-fledged ability to distinguish an external cyberattack (for example, a ransomware Trojan) from a cover for internal theft - for example, from a warehouse, for which the destruction of the accounting database is oh so convenient.
It has become very easy to get confused in cybersecurity - assessing the level of threats and the reality of the requirements being discussed, planning adequate measures and putting them into a coherent roadmap has become difficult even for the giants of the oil and gas and industrial sectors of the global economy represented in Russia with dozens and hundreds of cybersecurity specialists.
A separate problem is the Internet of Things risk zone that australia whatsapp data at the very end of 2016 , the scale of future problems with which cannot yet be professionally assessed even in the first approximation.
State
In 2016, the state issued a large number of documents that had not yet been properly implemented (for example, the Information Security Doctrine), showed “Kuzkin’s mother” to LinkedIn, which had not implemented Federal Law 242 , and continued developing GosSOPKI — the State System for Monitoring Cyberattacks.
Personal data — 242-FZ and blocking. Law 242-FZ was intended to regain control over the personal data of Russian citizens. It succeeded with varying success, some organizations "saluted", some successfully ignore the law to this day, fortunately Roskomnadzor's resources are barely enough to check subsidiaries and representative offices of foreign corporations. It is worth noting that similar laws are in effect in Turkey and Pakistan.
