Too much focus on the communication skills of safety culture team members can reduce the professionalism of the team. While communication programs, training events, team communication, and online communities are important components, they are not the foundation of a safety culture program. They are simply channels of influence aimed at ensuring that more people understand their role in the safety of their organizations or, more broadly, their communities.
