Digging deeper into the quantitative research data, the analysts discovered something interesting: while referral traffic tends to show a higher conversion rate compared to other channels (organic, direct, etc.), the difference is not as significant as most marketers tend to believe.
To establish a benchmark, the researchers surveyed marketers to find out their overall visitor-to-lead conversion rate :

The largest difference in segment reporting was 2-5% relative to the conversion rate.
This segment showed a 64% increase when comparing referral traffic to total traffic.
