The commercial director of the local plant "Optic Fiber Systems" Alexey Makarkin spoke about this at a meeting with journalists in Saransk.
He said that in 2022, due to sanctions, the supply chains of raw materials for the production of optical fiber (glass blanks - preforms) were disrupted. "Optic fiber fell cambodia cell phone number list under the very first sanctions, right away. Previously, the plant purchased raw materials from Japan and the Netherlands, but after the introduction of restrictive measures by these countries, ships at sea with deliveries turned around," said Alexey Makarkin.
to fulfill orders for Russian companies until May. Currently, the production buys preforms from China and India. "We started looking for an alternative - these are Asian countries. But even there, not everything is so simple: everyone is afraid of secondary sanctions, plus the overload of logistics networks. Prices for air delivery have increased. As a result, the cost of fiber, of course, has increased. Having found a supplier, we cannot immediately begin purchasing, we need to test the raw materials. It must last at least 25 years, this is the minimum, and in general 40 or more. We need to create conditions and conduct tests. Our main partner Rostelecom thoroughly tested the product. From May to August, we shipped a minimum of fiber, and in August we returned to production.
JSC "Optic Fiber Systems" is the only plant in Russia producing optical fiber, one of the main components of modern communication networks.
"Optic Fiber Systems" produces telecommunication optical fibers of G652, G657A1, G657A2, G654 standards, including those with a reduced diameter of 200 microns and 2% stretch, and provides services for coloring optical fibers and applying Ringmarkin ring marks.
According to him, the warehouse stock of fiber was enough
