According to a report by NBC News , since Elon Musk took over the reins of X, the social network has become a go-to place for promoting explicitly pro-Nazi content, including speeches by Hitler and content praising his genocidal regime.
In fact, the outlet says that at least 150 premium accounts and thousands of non-paying accounts have posted and amplified pro-Nazi content in recent months. It also found that 74 of these 150 premium accounts have posted ads for different brands, either on their profile or in their replies, such as the case of the advertiser IQAir, a Swiss air quality technology company.
After being made aware of this, IQAir explained that they bolivia number data were using X’s features that allow you to select which audiences to target with your ads and exclude others: “ Our ads are set up so that, at best, X does not reach accounts outside of our target audience ,” the company stated in an email.
The Swiss brand is using X’s “negative targeting” tool , designed to allow advertisers to prevent their ads from being placed near certain keywords, to add the Holocaust denial hashtag to its list of excluded keywords. The same is true for other social networks such as Facebook, where brands can also avoid appearing next to controversial content.
On the other hand, the world's largest advertisers, such as Disney, Apple, Warner Bros, IBM, Lionsgate, Paramount and Comcast have pulled their X ads and many have yet to resume them.
