TikTok is developing a new AI-powered tool , specifically a chatbot capable of offering real-time answers to questions asked by users, among other functions. This information has been revealed by the Semafor media outlet , which has also revealed that the Chinese social network has filed an application in the US to register this AI under the name "Genie" .
Genie, the assistant that will connect you to the TikTok ecosystem
This chatbot will simulate conversations, facilitate interaction between humans and AI, produce text and also a voice that recreates the human voice. TikTok intends to make Genie the center of its artificial intelligence functionalities , connecting users with different elements of the application.
Developing chatbots is nothing new for TikTok. In May last united states of america number data year, users in the Philippines gained access to Tako , an AI-powered chatbot tool capable of recommending videos based on questions asked by users . However, Tako is not said to be capable of answering more complex queries, according to the social network.
Genie will thus be a more complex and comprehensive product than Tako , integrating various AI elements into a single flow and allowing for more actions and interactions. It is also expected to include the “generative AI search” feature currently built into TikTok’s Chinese version, Douyin, which allows users to expand discovery outside and within the app.
On the other hand, this new AI tool could also integrate TikTok’s new tools for creating AI influencers . Likewise, the social network is also reportedly working on developing the “StreamVoice” system , which can simulate a person’s voice based on just a few expressions. In addition, the platform is exploring AI music generation processes and text-to-video creation tools , all integrated into an expanded chatbot offering.
