PageRank score on Google toolbar

Post by sharminakter »

Flashback: Google PageRank was the SEO metric everyone was talking about.

An increase in your PageRank score was a great indicator of how effective your SEO strategy (and, in particular, your link building strategy) was.

Today, PageRank is rarely mentioned.

Not because it is no longer important. But because it is no longer a publicly available metric.

In this guide, we'll dive into everything you still need to know about the Google PageRank algorithm.

What is PageRank?
PageRank is a Google algorithm that measures the importance of web pages based on the quality and quantity of links pointing to them. It treats incoming links as votes of confidence, with pages receiving more high-quality links being considered more important in search results.

Previously, SEO specialists could check the PageRank cyprus phone data score of any web page via the Google Toolbar.

A PageRank of 0 (PR0) represents the lowest quality pages. While a score of 10 (PR10) corresponds to the most authoritative pages.

But PageRank works on a logarithmic scale . It is not a linear scale.

Many SEO specialists believe that it has a logarithmic base of five. This means that each incremental increase represents a fivefold increase in the importance of the page.

In this case, a PR4 page would be considered 25 times more important than a PR2 page (not twice as important, as a linear scale suggests).

The reason why SEO specialists have become so attached to this metric is because PageRank is transmitted from one page to another. This means that a website can gain authority by receiving a link from another site with a higher SEO PageRank score.
