Telegram allows multi-device login. You can check where your account is currently active and remotely log out of sessions you don’t recognize.
Go to: Settings → Devices
You’ll see:
All active sessions (device name, IP address, location)
Option to terminate any or all sessions
This is vital if your device is lost or you suspect account compromise.
Auto-Delete Messages
Telegram offers auto-delete timers in all chats, including groups and channels. When telegram data enabled, messages are automatically deleted after a selected time once they’re viewed.
Options range from:
24 hours
7 days
Custom durations
To activate: Tap on the three-dot menu in a chat → "Auto-Delete"
This adds a layer of ephemerality to your conversations.
Account Self-Destruct Timer
In case you stop using Telegram altogether, you can set your account to self-destruct after a period of inactivity.
Go to: Settings → Privacy and Security → Delete My Account If Away For...
Options include:
1 month (default)
3 months
6 months
12 months
If you don’t log in during that period, Telegram will automatically delete your account and all data, including chats and media.
13. Blocking Users
You can block users who are harassing you or violating your privacy.
Go to any chat → Tap on the user’s name → Tap "More" → Tap "Block User"
Once blocked:
They can't message you
They can’t see your last seen or online status
They won’t be notified that they’ve been blocked
