One of Telegram’s unique features is that forwarded messages can be traced back to the original sender. However, you can prevent others from linking forwarded messages back to your account.
Go to: Settings → Privacy and Security → Forwarded Messages
Set who can link forwarded messages to your account:
Everybody
My Contacts
Nobody
When set to “Nobody,” messages you send can still be forwarded, but they won’t contain a telegram data clickable link to your profile.
7. Group & Channel Invitations
Telegram allows users to add you to groups or channels—but you can control who has that ability.
Go to: Settings → Privacy and Security → Groups & Channels
Choose who can add you:
Everybody
My Contacts
Nobody (or customize with exceptions)
This prevents strangers from adding you to spam groups or promotional channels.
8. Live Location Sharing
Telegram lets you share live location with friends, but only when explicitly activated. It’s not a passive feature, and you control when and with whom it's shared.
You can stop live location sharing at any time by tapping the shared message and choosing "Stop Sharing."
9. Two-Step Verification (2FA)
While Telegram uses SMS-based login, you can enable Two-Step Verification for an extra layer of security.
Go to: Settings → Privacy and Security → Two-Step Verification
You’ll set up:
A password
A recovery email (optional, but recommended)
This prevents someone with access to your SIM card from logging into your account without your password.
