Step 1: Determine content marketing strategy goals
Before starting to build a content marketing strategy, marketers should clearly define their goals. Without the right goals in place, marketers can become “lost.” At this point, they can get lost in the act of creating and distributing content. Content marketing goals should be aligned with overall business goals, translated into key metrics that marketers can measure content marketing activities.

There are two main categories of content marketing goals:
