Governments, organizations, businesses and individuals are gradually adapting to working in a pandemic environment and preparing for the changes in business management that will inevitably occur once the pandemic ends or quarantine measures are significantly relaxed.

At the first stage of the pandemic, many had to endure the stress of not being able to be in their usual workplace, work in their usual office conditions, and urgently switch to remote work. This, in particular, required colossal efforts from IT services and IT users: the former had to build a new corporate infrastructure for remote work and the use of cloud services, and the latter had to equip workstations at home, connect communication channels, and learn to use teamwork and communication tools.

After many countries have passed the peak of the pandemic, there is talk of lifting a number of quarantine restrictions, which opens up opportunities for businesses and organizations to return to the traditional format of office work. But most experts agree that the lessons of a large-scale experiment in deploying remote work will be taken into account in the second stage of the pandemic, which will be characterized by hybrid office-remote work and will require an appropriate flexible and adaptive IT infrastructure, ready at any time in the event of new outbreaks or waves of the pandemic and the announcement of quarantines for an immediate transition to full remote work.
