Radio is primarily a morning medium, while television is an evening medium. Even in the VJ system, television is technically quite complex and cumbersome, radio is quick and easy: you pull the control up and you're on the air. Television is expensive, radio is comparatively cheap. Television is a medium of money: the budget primarily determines which programs you can offer.

With ten million a year, you will never compete with the RTLs of this world. With a manageable team of professionals and a great concept, you can produce a world-class program. Only when employees are passionate about their own medium can the highest quality be achieved. Anyone who is abused as a supplier for various channels will not deliver top performance. Born and pushed in a time of crisis, when people want to cut costs at all costs, it confuses the central element of high-profile media. That is the case with the newsroom. And even more so with the Armin Walpen plan for radio and television. Because it is above all a new instrument of power, sold with the battle cry of cost savings.
