Party names circulated for free

Post by asimj1 »

Over the holidays, the CVP put up a dozen posters on the side of the road in the Frauenfeld region wishing people a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. "This is not an election campaign, but a friendly greeting to the population," says Stefan Geiges, district president of the CVP Frauenfeld. The Young SVP also started a similar campaign. But what is the intention? Are the SVP and CVP simply wishing people a good year or is this political advertising? If the latter applies, this would poland rcs data have legal consequences. Political advertising is subject to cantonal regulations. This means that campaigns are only permitted six weeks before the election.

The CVP and SVP were asked by the other parties to immediately reverse the action and remove the posters. There is a certain understanding for young parties when they try to test boundaries. But these actions go too far. They are nothing other than party politics and therefore fall under cantonal guidelines. The Juso shot poison arrows at the Young SVP: the SVP usually insists on law and order, but now the party is deliberately and extremely subtle circumventing existing law.

Whether the posters have to be removed is decided by the municipalities. The SVP's party logo is missing and the organizers take the position that the population can be wished all the best.

In my opinion, the PR stunt was a success, either way. The clever move was picked up by the media and thus there is a multiplier effect. Advertisers are happy when the advertisement gets noticed - when people talk about it - when the media spread the party names for free. Let's assume that the posters have to be removed; the "smart guys" have achieved their goal in any case: CVP and Young SVP have been able to mark their branding.
