We honor works that have the power to touch

Post by asimj1 »

The ADC*E is turning 25 and I am allowed to be there together with Bruno Manser and Livio Dainese. In Barcelona – the city where every second cobblestone is better designed than some places in the German-speaking world – 702 entries from 19 nations will be assessed by us and almost 50 other jurors in one day. The majority of them ended up in my Design & Craft category.

"After almost ten hours of judging, we still look iran rcs data totally fresh and have no desire for a cold drink": Livio Dainese, Inken Rohweden and Bruno Manser pose for a selfie.
There are many great works from Germany on the table. Countries that are traditionally strong in design, such as England, Denmark and Switzerland, which submitted very few entries, are missing. Some other countries at least provide something to talk about.

We get to know, if not love, the new corporate identity of the city of Zhytomyr in northwestern Ukraine, and we wonder what Italy is up to: the work with the telling title "I am wasting my time" is only there as a title. After almost 10 hours it is clear: one of the many wine bottles submitted wants to be opened, but its label is not nominated. Just looking good is not enough to convince the jury. Only works that are able to touch people are awarded prizes.
