Impressum asks for a donation, including from former members like me. There is talk of serious financial bottlenecks in the professional association. It didn't have to come to this.
I still have it as a souvenir today, my first press card, issued by the Swiss Journalists' Association. It was an accolade for many of us who were not able to study to work in the media, as is possible today. Most of taiwan rcs data us did not have doctorates or a "lic", we were career changers and one thing made us proud: the title "BR Editor". Anyone could always call themselves a journalist, but not connected to BR, the professional register.

It wasn't easy being a "BR" back then. We were a small group everywhere. In St. Gallen, where I became the youngest member at 19, we all knew each other. BR - that was a guarantee of a good income - without discussions with the publishers. BR - that was a door opener everywhere. Swissair gave us discounts of up to 50 percent, the SBB half-day pass cost a symbolic five francs. Malaysia Airlines, which now gives a 100-franc discount, is not needed that often.
