Pollution lawsuit
Coca-Cola is a major polluter with its non-biodegradable packaging. In June 2021, the Earth Island Institute filed a lawsuit against Coca-Cola, stating that they use misleading marketing by claiming to be a sustainable and environmentally friendly company, while in reality they are the largest contributor to global plastic pollution. Coca-Cola was favored in the lawsuits, as the criticism focused on ambitious claims that were vague and unquantifiable. In 2020, Coca-Cola also faced a lawsuit, along with other leading companies that use plastic bottles. A California environmental group filed this lawsuit. They were further accused of being held responsible for polluting the oceans and the earth.
Fierce competition
