Director of the Department of Digital Technologies of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vladimir Dozhdev announced at the All-Russian Internet of Things (IoT) Day on April 24 that the Ministry of Industry and Trade intends to launch a state support program to subsidize part of the costs of implementing industrial software (SW) and hardware and software systems (HSS).

"Starting in the summer of 2024, the program can already start working and provide financial support to companies that want to implement or import-substitute projects using enterprise lifecycle management technologies, mathematical modeling, and engineering calculations," noted Vladimir Dozhdev.

Vladimir Dozhdev responded that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is already participating in the discussion of the new national project: "Since previously all programs created by the department provided for competitive selection, therefore new programs will be equally accessible to all market participants."

According to Andrey Kolesnikov, there is no such thing as an Internet of Things market - there is a telemetry and automation market, money from which goes to the market of devices, communications, platforms and integrators, but there are rough estimates of the IoT market in Russia from 200 billion to 250 billion rubles, and they can be trusted.

"We know that the market is being fueled by import substitution and is growing by 20 percent a year. But we don't know how long this will last," added Andrey Kolesnikov.
