In the article, we will consider 4 approaches:
- Collecting competitor queries
- Collecting unique competitor queries
- Collecting low-competition but high-frequency queries
- Collecting basic queries using Smart query selection
And after that, we will tell you what criteria to use to select queries in order to form a pool of queries for launching advertising.
So, let's get started.
Collecting competitors' requests
In the competitor analysis, we enter the competitor's domain.
Go down to the table “Domain norway phone data queries in Yandex Direct” and click “All queries in Yandex Direct”
3. On the next page, click on the “Export” button and download the finished report with competitor requests and ads.
Collecting unique queries from competitors
1. In the competitor analysis, enter the competitor's domain.
2. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page to the "Competitors in the context for the domain" table and click "All competitors in the Yandex.Direct context".
3. On the next page, we select two competitors with whom we have the greatest intersection of queries using a tick and click “Compare domains”.
4. We get into the battle of domains. In the table "Comparison of domains in Yandex.Direct contextual advertising" there is a diagram in which our domain and the domains of our competitors are represented by circles.
If you click on the areas of the competitors' circles that intersect with ours, then we can download our common queries with our competitors, by which we advertise.
If you click on the areas of the competitors' circles that do not intersect with ours, then we can download the unique queries of our competitors, by which they advertise, but we do not advertise yet.
5. On the next page, click on the “Export” button and download the finished report with unique queries and competitor ads.
Collection of low-competition but high-frequency queries
In the competitor analysis, we enter a query related to our type of activity. For example, if we are engaged in the sale of forged gates, then we enter "Forged gates".
2. Let's go down a little lower, to the table "People also buy with the query forged gates in Yandex.Direct" and click on the button "View all queries".
3. On the next page we see all the queries that were selected by the algorithm and that are most similar to the query "Forged gates". The column "Popularity among advertisers" displays the percentage of the frequency of use of this query by other advertisers. The lower it is, the better for us. Let's sort the popularity of queries from less popular to more popular by clicking on the column header.
Now let's select queries that have more than 100 impressions per month. This will make it easier for us to find queries that were shown three or more times per day.
