those of MBA1 Finance, with their director Georges Castel, as well as their professor Bernd Bühler, and a former student of the 2003 class Tarek El Mahri, went to visit the Frankfurt Stock Exchange Deutsche Börse on January 25th.
They were able to see shareholder database the large securities trading floor (shares/bonds and derivatives) after following a conference by Max Ebner on the different markets of the Deutsche Börse.
In the evening, the group of 60 students and their management met in the Zum Rad tavern (known for over 200 years) to eat in this typically Germanic place.
The next day, the group visited the European Central Bank (ECB). The students attended a fascinating lecture by Giacomo Carboni, Senior Economist of the ECB Monetary Policy Division, on the topic: "Overview of the current monetary policy of the European Central Bank and adjustments of Quantitative Easing". The students asked some very pertinent questions.
Finally, in the afternoon, the students went to the European Central Bank to pay their respects at the Jewish Memorial, with a speaker, Mrs. Schmidt, because in this place where the European Central Bank is currently located, there was the gathering place for Jews leaving for the camps.
This educational immersion was rich in knowledge and discoveries. The whole group was delighted with this study trip to Frankfurt. The next trip of the MBA Finance students will take place in London for the 11th edition from April 18 to 20, 2018.
