YouTube and You: Structure Your Brand and Your Niche

Define your niche
In my experience, the best strategy is to go for a niche market and gradually expand it. You'll also develop your subscriber audience along the way. The best tip I can give you is to search YouTube for a topic you want to talk about (your niche) and specialize in it. For example, if you're into photography, you could search for a niche like " Vintage Photography Lenses ." See what content already exists and see if there's a subtopic that no one is focusing on. Go beyond the first page of search results and use multiple search terms for the same topic. Once you've decided, use the following framework:
Segmentation: Here you need to define who you want to speak to. Who will your audience be? Remember that the better you understand this factor, the more targeted your content will be. This will truly give you better results in views and interactions. Many people use factors such as geography, psychographics, and demographics to create this segmentation.
Targeting: In segmentation, you'll find more than one group you want to speak to. However, you need to focus and target a group to make your content specific to that niche. Remember, one or both of them is bad for him who serves two masters.
Positioning: In this box, you'll write how you want to be perceived.
