It charges service fees to freelancers based on the type of client they work with. Clients are divided into:

Non-Enterprise Clients: For this type of client, Upwork charges the freelancer a sliding scale fee based physician data on the non-enterprise client’s lifetime earnings. Any contract is considered: hourly, fixed price, or projects from the project catalog. The service fee is charged as follows:
20% – $500 and below
10% – $500.01 to $10,000
5% – $10,000 and above
Enterprise Clients: In this category, Upwork negotiates individual contracts with these companies on a case-by-case basis.
The service charge for Enterprise contracts is a flat rate of 10%. Customer profiles are identified as Enterprise customers by a badge.

$14.99 per month subscription fee for Upwork Plus customers;
Custom pricing based on the level of service needed for Upwork Enterprise clients.
For Payroll Services, 23% is deducted from the employee's salary – 10% for Upwork and 13% for payroll costs;
Payments made by all customers are subject to a mandatory 3% fee to cover administration and payment processing costs.
