Marketing and football, in search of the world genius in Qatar 2022

Post by messi71 »

Several rounds have already been played in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
We have already seen great players, beautiful plays, emotional moments and also some sadness and disappointments.
“Football is football!” as Vujandin Boskov would say , who played in two World Cups with the former Yugoslavia.

What does not seem to disappoint is everything that surrounds the world of advertising and marketing in the great football event par excellence. A major world event attracts millions of spectators, and brands and their creative and technical teams know the importance of this fact for the recognition of their brand. It is not just about being known or recognised, many of them are well known enough, but they are already looking for the positioning of the company at other levels.

Advertising in football has always architects mailing lists been a goldmine. Football is about passion and feelings, and there is nothing better than taking advantage of this emotional channel to explode virtues and create a connection with fans who, for a few days, capture emotions in a special way.

In the run-up to and during the 2022 Qatar World Cup , various brands have launched their commercials and content on social media to attract the excitement that fans passionately post.

At Good! we are very football fans, most of us, and we also love advertising, creativity, technique, etc., obviously. There we are the absolute majority.

So we've been surfing the net and we've found the ads that we found most interesting so far. There's still a lot of World Cup left to play and some brands are sure to have surprises in store.

These are the most notable ones:

Adidas

This ad is titled “Family Reunion” and stars Lionel Messi, Pedro “Pedri” González López, Karim Benzema, Achraf Hakimi, Son Heung-min, Jude Bellingham and Serge Gnabry.
Bringing together all these players from different nationalities and teams creates a nostalgic tone, with scenes that bring to mind moments, places and players that football fans easily recognize.
Adidas does not mention the country where this World Cup will be held.

Nike

Football legends come together in this spot to create what Nike has called the Footballverse.
Some of the players featured in this video are Mbappé, Ronaldinho, Carli Lloyd, Cristiano Ronaldo, among others. The plot of the ad is the typical conversation about which player is better, to which they decide to pit both players against each other. As it progresses, more footballers join in. It concludes with the entry of the new generation of footballers.

Pepsi

“Nutmeg Royale” is the title of this campaign, nutmeg is what we know in Spain as “caño”, starring Messi who is accompanied by Ronaldinho Gaucho and Paul Pogba. It contains references to the world of gaming and social networks with tones of humor and fun at a fast pace. It is set in an ancient Arab city.
