This point is very important because it is the moment when you determine who your ads are directed to. A wrong choice can cause you to waste your money and time.

Twitter doesn't have a great level of audience detail, but you do get a number of variables on their site that can be used as ways to segment your audience, such as preferences (based on profiles they follow and topics they interact with), location, device used to access ( desktop , mobile, tablet ), system (Android, iOS, Windows, Blackberry), gender and language.

When creating ads, you can choose a few profiles that are compatible with your ideal person and use them as a reference for the audience that should be reached by those ads.

You can also use keywords as audience targeting criteria.
