With the rapid growth of wearables, I expect this app trend to have a major impact on health in 2018. The increasingly sophisticated hardware means that healthcare does not need to come up with its own devices to monitor patients. The number of hospital admissions and the number of deaths from natural causes will most likely decrease due to the availability.

5. Will 2018 be the year of the smart car?
Everyone can sense that we are extremely close to the self-driving car. Billions are currently being pumped into companies that have the potential to launch the first fully self-driving car on the market. 2018 could well be the year that the commercial market for self-driving cars opens. It is not only the self-driving aspect that makes cars smart, but also the fact that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are delivered with almost every newly produced car.
Your favorite apps (like Spotify) will soon be optimized and available in your car. Furthermore, logical steps would be that, for example, the mirrors, the seat and the steering wheel adjust, depending on who is behind the wheel. Opening the garage will soon no longer have to be done with a remote control, the car will communicate that it is there.

To alert users to the security of the connection to a website, the green lock of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) was russian phone number list invented. Users have no idea whether the connection between them and the app is secure. For that reason I expect some kind of SSL indication for apps. The Google Play Store recently started showing 'Google Play verified' with a green lock when installing a new app. But this has nothing to do with whether the app uses a secure connection. Apple apps have to connect to a secure domain, but it doesn't matter whether the certificate is valid. I expect Google and Apple to add a green lock for apps that only use SSL securely.

My expectation is that the app trends of 2018 will ensure that the app market will innovate considerably. In any case, I am looking forward to the possibilities of next year; who knows, I might be completely surprised. Apps are increasingly linked to each other, to us and to the physical world and these links will ensure an exponential growth in possibilities in the coming period.
