PJSC Rostelecom reported this on Monday, December 15.

A representative of the Rostelecom press service told ComNews that the deal consists of several stages, which include the purchase of a part of the share from the founders of Imredi and a contribution to the authorized capital. According to him, at the first stage Rostelecom plans to increase its share of ownership to 25%.

A representative of the denmark telegram Imredi press service noted that Rostelecom's share will be 25.69%. At the same time, it has an option to increase its share in the future.

The cooperation between PJSC Rostelecom and LLC Imredi will expand the range of Rostelecom's digital products for retail. One of the main areas of cooperation between the two companies will be the introduction of artificial intelligence into the companies' applied solutions.

The Imredi platform will become the core of Rostelecom's digital business for the retail sector. The partnership will expand sales channels and the customer base, and will also accelerate the development of the product and service portfolio, which will help strengthen Rostelecom's position as a leading player in the retail chain digitalization market. Rostelecom will act as a strategic investor and partner for Imredi.

According to Artem Mikhaylin, an analyst at IK Veles Capital LLC, the deal between Rostelecom and Imredi could be a way for the young company to attract funding, expertise and the client base of the telecom giant.

"Obviously, the deal is beneficial to both parties and each will benefit from it. Rostelecom will gain access to a new product, which it will offer within the B2B direction. Imredi will have access to Rostelecom's client base and expertise, and will also receive additional financing. Large players in the industry often buy various companies whose products are complementary to their business. The practice is quite common. In the current conditions with high rates and expensive money, M&A activity of operators will probably decrease," he noted.

Finam analyst Leonid Delitsyn agreed with Artem Mikhailin. In his opinion, this deal is beneficial to both parties, since the young company Imredi is acquiring a strategic investor providing cloud services to large companies, and Rostelecom is acquiring a ready-made solution for developing a new direction. He noted that the telecom giant spent from 850 million to 1 billion rubles on 25.69% of the company.
