Working under the supervision of a tutor

Post by tanjimajuha20 »

The tutor is an employee of the company who must have at least two years of experience in the relevant profession and who has a diploma equal to or higher than that sought by the person in training. He is a volunteer and chosen by the employer – who can also choose himself if he has the time. He acts as a liaison with the training organization or service and participates in the evaluation of the training follow-up.

In the specific context of apprenticeship, the apprentice is supported by an apprenticeship master, who meets the same prerequisites as the tutor and is generally mint database responsible for the same tasks. On the other hand, the apprenticeship master must have followed pedagogical training allowing him to correctly teach the apprentices the trade.

On a daily basis, the tutor, like the apprenticeship master, must welcome the worker in training, guide them, help them and inform them about their work within the company. They must contribute to the acquisition of the skills of the worker in training, organize their activity and ensure that their schedule is respected. A single tutor can thus supervise up to three workers in training, unless they are the employer themselves, in which case they can only supervise two. The apprenticeship master can only supervise two apprentices.

What is learning?
Apprenticeship is a work-study training program, just like the professionalization contract. It is an initial training program with the aim of leading to a higher professional or technological diploma . The people concerned are considered apprentices, employed by the company, unlike students doing an internship in a company.

Who is this type of work for?
This training is intended for people aged 16 to 29 inclusive and must take place in France, or partially in a border country. Indeed, this last possibility has existed since 2022. Law 2022-217 of February 21, 2022 allows apprentices to follow part of their training, whether theoretical or practical cycles, in a country bordering France: Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium. It is also possible to carry out part of your apprenticeship (theory + practice) abroad for a maximum period of one year.

The apprentice candidate must first register in an Apprentice Training Center (CFA). Then, as soon as he finds training and signs a contract with his future employer, he has three months before starting his apprenticeship training. This training lasts between 6 months and 3 years, but can be extended under certain conditions (failure), or shortened in the event of obtaining the targeted diploma before the end of the contract.

The apprentice alternates between cycles of courses and work in a company under the supervision of an apprenticeship master. The duration of the cycles depends on each training course: it can be days divided into hours of courses and hours of work, or periods of a few months of courses followed by periods of several months of work.
