Opinions of market players

CodeInside CEO Maxim Semenkin told a ComNews journalist that due to the fact that VAT remains one of the largest taxes in Russia, removing VAT within the framework of the EAEU agreement is a very correct initiative for the further development of the IT industry.

Maxim Semenkin mentioned algeria whatsapp number database that before the amendments were made, it was necessary to correctly indicate the place of provision of services in order to avoid VAT. "If you do not pay attention to this, you would have to bear additional expenses in connection with the payment of VAT for considerable amounts or refuse the contract if the customer was not satisfied with this option," he noted.

Maxim Semenkin believes that this amendment to the protocol will allow software developers to more actively enter international markets and be more competitive in price. "This is especially relevant for beginning exporters," he noted and added that his company has long been engaged in the export of software development services, so it knows many pitfalls. "This amendment will allow us to spend less effort on administering export contracts in the EAEU zone, and in some cases avoid paying VAT," said Maxim Semenkin.

IW GROUP CEO Alexander Shibaev believes that the abolition of VAT within the EAEU will not significantly affect the domestic software market, but may affect groups of companies that work within the framework of cross-border interactions, helping foreign colleagues develop digital spaces in different republics and countries. "We are glad that IT specialists from the Eurasian Economic Union and the EAEU offer products on the domestic market. Unfortunately, this is a small share, so this will not affect the overall global software and IT market in Russia," said Alexander Shibaev.

He noted that his company welcomes any initiative aimed at getting rid of VAT, because he believes that the "colonial" VAT should not be applied to the IT industry and should be abolished wherever possible. "We are waiting for amendments to the Tax Code and hope that the IT industry will be freed from VAT. Unfortunately, what was implemented within the EAEU will not help our company, because we do not work in the conditions of this union and do not sell services. But for companies that do this, this will be a good help and a fair support," noted Alexander Shibaev.

Leading analyst of Mobile Research Group Eldar Murtazin says that thanks to the abolition of VAT within the framework of the EAEU agreement, software developers will receive a major advantage, which will further stimulate development and reduce the cost of software for the end user.

The Federal Tax Service did not respond to a request from a ComNews journalist.
